About the Department of State

The Department of State is an executive department responsible for representing the White House and managing foreign affairs. It protects and advances the White House's interests by overseeing communications with external organisations and foreign relations, managing the transfer process, and handling diplomatic agreements. In addition, the department works closely with the Department of Defense on security related matters.

The Secretary of State serves on the National Security Council and the Principals Committee, collaborating with the Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations and the Secretary of Defense on immediate protection measures. In addition, the Department of State maintains regular communication with the White House's allies to ensure a strong and sustainable network. Department of State Leadership

The Department of State is led by the Secretary of State and deputised by the Secretary of Transport. The members of the U.S. Foreign Service also play an important role in ensuring a healthy and strong relationship between the White House and its allies and friends.
